Dads home!

So dad has had his operation and is home now being waited on hand and foot. He's obviously a little sore but is generally doing very well other than he thinks coughing is worse than child birth!

Dad was in for an Inguinal Orchiectomy and it will be around a week before we have the histology report back and know the extent of the cancer (or even if it is canccer, as we're only 99.99% certain at the moment).




Dad went in to hospital at 13:00 and in for his op at 14:45. He was a bit nervous when he first got changed into his gown and all but after waiting in his bed for nearly two hours he was just glad when the nurses came to take him to Theatre - although he would have preferred if it was a West End Theatre!

While the nurses and anaesthetist prepped dad for the operation his heart rate never topped 62 beats per minute - Jack Bauer eat your heart out!!

It was 16:30 before he came around from his general anaesthetic and another hour before he could sit up. First order of business when dad came fully around was a dose of Codeine (dad felt like his vitals were being gripped in an ever tightening vice!). Once he was awake he had a drink and possibly the most amazing pieces of toast ever made in the history of toast.

Mum, Lily and Grandma were at the hospital waiting to collect dad and bring him home. It was lovely to see mum and Lily - and may be even Grandma ;-)

Today has been a lovely day with Dad watching UFC74 and Sky Sports all day.

This evening dad even ventured outside while mum and Lily were in the garden.


(Mum put dads socks on for him and pulled them as far up as possible to make dad look cute and poorly!)
